Block Mania

1. Introduction

Block Mania ("we", "us", "our", "the app") is a mobile puzzle game. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By using Block Mania, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information You Provide

• Display Name — A nickname you choose for the global leaderboard (max 20 characters). This is not your real name unless you choose to use it.
• Avatar Selection — Your chosen avatar, picked from a fixed set of preset icons built into the app. Only the index number of your choice is stored. The app does not access your photo library and you cannot upload your own image.

2b. Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous User ID — When you first open the app, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous identifier (no email, no password, no personal details). This ID is used solely to identify your leaderboard entry.
• Game Data — Your high score, level, and avatar index are stored on our servers (Google Cloud Firestore) for the global leaderboard feature.
• Analytics Events — With your consent, anonymous gameplay events (e.g., "game started", "game over with score X") are collected via Firebase Analytics. These events contain no personally identifiable information (PII). Analytics collection is disabled by default and only enabled after you consent.
• Crash Reports — With your consent, Firebase Crashlytics collects technical diagnostic information (device model, OS version, stack trace) to help us fix bugs. No PII is included in crash reports. Crash reporting is disabled by default and only enabled after you consent.
• Advertising Data — The app contains ads. If you consent to personalized ads, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), IP address, app usage data, and inferred interests for ad targeting. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalised and your advertising identifier is not used for targeting. See section 9.

2c. Information Stored Locally Only

The following data is stored on your device and never transmitted to any server:

• Game settings (sound, music, haptics, theme preference)
• Achievement progress
• Score history and statistics
• Daily streak and daily challenge progress

3. How We Use Your Information

• Leaderboard — Your display name, score, level, and avatar index are used to display the global leaderboard to all players.
• App Improvement — With your consent, anonymous analytics help us understand how players interact with the game so we can improve gameplay.
• Crash Fixing — With your consent, crash reports help us identify and fix bugs.

We do not: sell your data, send marketing emails, or share your data with data brokers.

4. How We Share Your Information

All third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies. See Firebase Privacy and Google Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Server data: Your leaderboard entry (display name, score, avatar index) is retained on our servers as long as you use the app. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

Local data: All local data can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

To request deletion of server data:

• Email us at sendtoichime@gmail.com with your request
• We will delete your data within 30 days

Uninstalling the app removes all local data immediately. Analytics and crash data are automatically purged by Firebase according to Google's retention policies (typically 14 months for Analytics, 90 days for Crashlytics).

6. Children's Privacy

Block Mania is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal data entry beyond an optional display name for the leaderboard.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

All Users

• Access — You can view your leaderboard data in the app.
• Deletion — Request deletion by emailing us or uninstalling the app.
• Consent — You can enable or disable analytics and crash reporting in the app settings.

EU/EEA/UK Residents (GDPR)

Under GDPR, our lawful basis for processing your data is:

• Legitimate interest — Leaderboard functionality
• Consent — Analytics and crash reporting (disabled by default, enabled only with your explicit consent)

You have the right to: access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. To exercise these rights, email sendtoichime@gmail.com.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any future sales. Contact us at sendtoichime@gmail.com.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Firestore Security Rules restrict write access to authenticated users only
• No passwords or payment data are stored by the app

9. Advertising

Block Mania uses Google AdMob to display advertisements in two formats:

• Interstitial ads — full-screen ads shown periodically between games in normal mode. These are not optional, but can be removed permanently with the Remove Ads in-app purchase.
• Rewarded video ads — entirely optional. You choose when to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward.

When you consent to personalized ads, AdMob may collect:

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS)
• IP address
• App usage data
• Inferred interests for ad targeting

You can deny ad consent at any time in the app's Settings. If you decline, ads are still shown but they are non-personalised: AdMob does not use your advertising identifier or inferred interests to target them. To stop seeing interstitial ads entirely, use the Remove Ads in-app purchase.

On iOS, we use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) to request permission before any ad-related tracking. You can change this in your device Settings at any time.

10. In-App Purchases

Block Mania offers optional in-app purchases for cosmetic items (themes, block skins) and convenience items (undo tokens, hint tokens). All core gameplay is free.

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) under their respective privacy policies. We do not directly collect or store payment information.

11. International Data Transfers

Your leaderboard data is stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States. By using the leaderboard feature, you consent to the transfer of your display name and score data to the US. Google maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
